Unlike many other accounting applications, Xero does not base its pricing on the number of individuals who need access. With every Xero plan, there is no limit on the number of users. In our view, this is one of Xero’s key differentiating factors, making it a great choice for growing businesses that are rapidly adding new employees. Additionally, we like that Xero avoids accounting jargon, such as “debits” and “credits,” throughout its interface, which is helpful because most business owners aren’t accountants or bookkeepers. When testing the software, we found Xero easy to navigate, with an intuitive and user-friendly interface.

In Australia and the United Kingdom, the Ultimate plan includes Payroll for 10 employees, and Expenses and Projects for five employees. In New Zealand, it includes Payroll, Expenses and Projects for five employees. Although this Xero trick can definitely save you time and simplify your process, you should still be very cautious about working in multiple organizations at once. Even with different browsers, it’s so easy to record a transaction in the wrong set of books, and you might not catch it until the end of the year.
